Haiti. Been coming down here for 25 years, and never could get
my mind to latch onto the level of destruction the quake has
brought. I've been in rural areas far from news crews and aid.
Simply stated, it is unimaginable! House after house destroyed,
buildings, businesses, roads - no electricity or running water in
many areas.

I am used to all he creature comforts of America. I am spoiled as
I have whined like a child at no bath, bathroom, excessive heat, no
light at night! Town after town lit with candles and bonfires, people
bathing in ditches, yet somehow managing to keep a good attitude.

This is humbling - I've repented. If every American had to come
here for a week and see entire towns flattened, neighborhoods
destroyed, and experience what it is like to be in a rather small
area in which 230000 people died in minutes, 300000 injured, and
1.3 million living in the streets, the country would fall to its knees
and cry for God's mercy.

We, as a nation, feel entitled and superior. I pray the signs that
seem abundantly evident cause us to awaken from our deep sleep.
