As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord ´
“Igniting soul’s through the proclamation of Jesus Christ”.
By the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you--I, Paul, who am "timid" when face to face with you, but "bold" when away! I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world."
This is an activity for all to enjoy and learn in, write as well as read. We call this "Weekend Scripture Share", as you will clearly see why. What we would like everyone to do is to post any verse or portion of the Word from your Bible. Along with the portion of Scripture you may place thought, comment, or question. The post does not need be long or short, can be one verse and simply said, "my favorite". Please do share with us and leave the subject line, or write in “Tuesday Scripture”. For the weekly addition of “Tuesday Scripture” and “Weekend Scripture Share”, I have been composing through the Spirit as I study, verse by verse, or portion by portion, from the Book of 2 Corinthians. I am now beginning the tenth Chapter in the Word.
2 Cor. 10:1-2 “I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold to you when I am away! I beg of you that when I am present I may not have to show boldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of acting in worldly fashion.”
Every day we deal with the dynamic reflected in these verses. There are two realms of existence that exist side by side, intertwined and overlapping, the kingdom of this world and the Kingdom of God. Each Kingdom has standards, principles, guidelines and physics that govern what is and is not possible within each realm. The principles, guidelines, standards and physics of the Kingdom of God take precedence over the Kingdom of God for those that dwell in this world under the authority of Christ. The principles, guidelines, standards, and physics of the world take precedence over the Kingdom of God for those that dwell in this world under the authority of self. Paul deals with people dwelling under the authority of the principles of this world and with people dwelling under the authority of the principles of the Kingdom of God. Accusing hostile judgmental people assess Paul's motives and attribute false motives based upon earthly principles. When this occurs Paul asserts himself boldly! He does not like having to assert himself this way! He wants to avoid the confrontation because it causes him to have to deal with the memory of deception, error and delusion in his past life. Paul is not living by the standards of this world. He lives by faith under the authority and grace of the living resurrected Christ who holds him together day by day. Facing this dichatomy, wrestling with its challenge and refusing to budge from his trust in Christ takes every ounce of energy he can muster.
So Paul pleads earnestly with the Corinthians, "by the meekness and gentleness of Christ", "please prepare a condition where I will not have assert myself in this way!" I can see Paul shaking his head, sighing and lowering an eyebrow in exhaustion expecting that the same old scenario will play out again. Yet he will repeat the same information, rehearse the same story and work the same work that leads to causing attitudes to change and hearts to repent. God's grace will prevail in all things and the fruit of His sown seed will mature into good fruit. God has promised and He is not a liar! The servant of Christ must face a daily challenge. The principles of this world will attack, try to destroy, accuse, assault and seek to damage the servant of God. God will glorify Himself by working a work in His time, His way and in His sovereign plan.
Anyone who may be moved in the spirit to respond or blessed to participate please feel free to do so. The point of these two weekly activities have been directed and set up by God to fellowship in the Word and learn from one another. I am not a teacher, but a Brother in the Family of God and called to His fellowship. I make mistakes and certainly may not see something in the same way as you, therefore always open to corrective criticism so long as it is spoken in the Spirit and conforms with the Bible which I believe to be the Living Word of God.
Love in the Lord
