I have made a fool of myself, but you drove me to it. I ought to have been commended by you, for I am not in the least inferior to the "super apostles," even though I am nothing. The things that mark an apostle, signs, wonders and miracles, were done among you with great perseverance. How were you inferior to the other churches, except that I was never a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!

This is an activity for all to enjoy and learn in, write as well as read. We call this "Weekend Scripture Share", as you will clearly see why. What we would like everyone to do is to post any verse or portion of the Word from your Bible. Along with the portion of Scripture you may place thought, comment, or question. The post does not need be long or short, can be one verse and simply said, "my favorite". Please do share with us and leave the subject line, or write in “Weekend Scripture Share”. For the weekly addition of “Tuesday Scripture” and “Weekend Scripture Share”, I had been composing through the Spirit as I study, verse by verse, or portion by portion, from the Book of 2 Corinthians. I am in the mist of the Twelfth Chapter in the Word.

2 Cor. 12:11-13, “I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.” KJV

"You made me do it." This is a classic no-no in relationships. Each person is to take responsibility for the personal actions. No one can make you do it. Counselors teach the alternative, "I" message in communicating with others. "I feel ____ when _______ happens and respond with ________. By omitting the "you" in the communication a defensive response is less likely.

Paul is being sarcastic in this passage to make a point. He is saying that the Corinthians required he present a defense of his position in Christ. Consequently he acted in a foolish way that is not defined. He presented his case even though he is nothing and Christ is everything. The demonstration of power in Christ follows those that serve Him. Paul could point to a long list of amazing miracles worked to keep him going in the face of impossibility. He could also point to the changed lives resulting from his effort. So the servant of God cannot take any credit for the good things that happen as a result of his or her effort in the Lord. Everything good comes from God and the ability to do anything and everything comes from Jesus Christ Lord and Savior. The servant can be encouraged and supported in the hard word by recognizing that God is in the work producing good fruit and ought to be appreciated by those who see lives being changed.

Anyone who may be moved in the spirit to respond or blessed to participate please feel free to do so. The point of these two weekly activities have been directed and set up by God to fellowship in the Word and learn from one another. I am not a teacher, but a Brother in the Family of God and called to His fellowship. I make mistakes and certainly may not see something in the same way as you, therefore always open to corrective criticism so long as it is spoken in the Spirit and conforms with the Bible which I believe to be the Living Word of God.
