In His Name

Micah 4:5. For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.

Exodus 3:1-16. Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:

In God's Name Moses was to bring the great nation of Egypt to its knees. In God's Name Moses was to perform signs and wonders before the powerful ruler of Egypt. In God's Name Moses was to lead the nation of Israel from captivity to freedom. In God's Name......

Why? What does this name do for us? 

Well, in His Name we are introduced to God:

In His Name we are adopted by God:
John 3:18 . . . We receive our salvation (Psalm 54:1, 116:4-7; Acts 2:21, 4:12, 22:16; 1John 5:13)
John 20:31 . . . We have life
2Timothy 2:19 . . . We are sealed by God
John 1:12 . . . We have rights as children of God
John 10:7-9 . . . We have access to God (John 14:6; Ephesians 2:18)
Acts 2:38 . . . We have remission of our sins (Acts 10:43)
Luke 24:47 . . . We have repentance and forgiveness (1John 2:12)
Matthew 28:19 . . . We are baptized and can baptize others (Acts 2:38)
1John 4:8-19 . . . We receive God's love
John 14:26 . . . We can receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38)

In His Name we can become a church:

Matthew 18:20 . . . We are gathered together with Him
Matthew 18:5 . . . We can welcome others

In His Name we can become a ministry:
Luke 24:47 . . . We can preach His Word
James 5:14 . . . We can anoint others with oil and pray for them
Deuteronomy 10:8 . . . We can minister to others
Psalm 75:1 . . . We partake of His wonderful deeds
Acts 4:30 . . . We partake of His signs and wonders

In His Name we can fight the spiritual war:
Mark 9:38-41 . . . We can drive out demons (Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:17; Acts 16:18, 19:13-17)

In His Name we can fight with God on our side:
Psalm 31:3 . . . We receive God's guidance
Psalm 52:9 . . . We have hope
Psalm 9:10 . . . We trust God (Psalm 33:21; Matthew 12:21)
Psalm 80:18 . . . We are revived
Psalm 91:14-16 . . . We are rescued
Psalm 124:8 . . . We are helped by God
Psalm 20:1-8 . . . We are protected (John 17:11-12)

In His Name we can begin our journey of blessings:
Numbers 6:27 . . . We are blessed (2Samuel 6:18; Psalm 129:8)
Psalm 89:16-24 . . . We have power and prosperity
John 14:13-14 . . . We receive whatever we ask (John 15:16, 16:23-26)

In His Name we can be free of sickness:
Exodus 33:19 . . . We receive mercy and compassion
Acts 3:6-8 . . . We are healed (Acts 4:10)
Acts 3:16 . . . We receive strength

In His Name we can start enjoying life:
Psalm 5:11 . . . We have joy
Ephesians 5:20 . . . We can give thanks (Hebrews 13:15)

In His Name we can win:
Jeremiah 10:6 . . . We are mighty
Lamentations 3:55-57 . . . We no longer fear
Psalm 44:5-8 . . . We have victory
1Chronicles 16:10 . . . We glory on our victory


2Thessalonians 1:11-12 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Corinthians 4:7-10 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
