5 Secrets of Powerful Prayer

1)   KNOW WHO YOU ARE WITH.
     "So let us come boldly before the throne of our gracious God".  Hebrews 
4:16a (NLT)

When you PRAY, you are in the THRONE ROOM from which 100 billion galaxies 
are governed. Think about it!  The same God who controls the universe, wants 
to hear from you!  Spend time praising Him, thinking about what an AWESOME 
GOD HE IS!


2)   KNOW WHAT YOU'RE ASKING.
     "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God 
what you need, and thank Him for all He has done".  Philippians 4:6 (NLT)

Come with something specific.  Your request should be as specific as your 
worry.  God honors specific requests.


3)   UNLOAD WHAT YOU'RE CARRYING.
     "Give your burdens to the LORD, and He will take care of you".  Psalm 
55:22 (NLT)

It doesn't just say "tell" the Lord about your burdens.  You have to trust 
Him with the problem, and LEAVE it with  Him!


4)   PRAY WITH EACH OTHER.
     "If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask, my 
Father in heaven will do it for you."  Matthew 18:19 (NLT)

Don't just pray FOR each other.  When you're talking with someone about a 
need say, "Can I pray with you about it?"  We underestimate the power of 
praying WITH each other.


5)   EXPECT THE SUPERNATURAL
     "Each morning I bring my requests to You and wait expectantly."  Psalm 
5:3 (NLT)

Get off your knees expecting things to happen in heaven because you prayed.  
When is the last time you trusted God with something only God could do?  The 
words hopeless and impossible are not in the vocabulary of God.
