Thank you for sharing your concern. Yes, DragonRaid is definitely used
by God to disciple young and old, and glorify His Name. And yes, it can
be used as a distraction if used wrong.
A lot of the talk about rules and aspects of the game is going on in
part because the ministry that handles DragonRaid is in the process of
revising the system, and we are using the DR list to gain feedback and
input from the end-user. Since it is a product, and like any education
product, it needs to be tested and revised, and what you are seeing is
some of the tedious process which may look trivial.
Not all of the discussion is trivial though, but will be used to help to
improve the product in the next edition and in future adventures with
more teaching tools available to youth ministers and groups.
I'm glad though that you feel free to voice your concern. I myself
don't really get into all the details being discussed, but I really do
enjoy knowing that DragonRaid is a product that is being mightily used
across the country, and am eager to see it perpetuated.
