Traveller is my all-time favorite ( besides DR ) RPG, and we tried not to do too many illegal or shady things. Always the good guys and outnumbered, we did lie to the police a couple of times to stay out of trouble. We did earn enough money gambling one weekend to buy a small starship though. Pre Christian days, you know. Same with D&D. When I used to play AD&D, I ran a campaign with as little magic as possible, more like the Authurian legends than anything. I tried to stay away from the weird stuff, and did not use magical components at all. I gave it all up after things got a bit out of hand with human sacrifice to the god Hate. Very occasionally I play the original edition of Star Trek RPG. I actually write my own ( Kirk era ) adventures and run them at game conventions. I get mostly unbelievers playing, so it is interesting working around their cussing, base actions, and all. But, it is always Good vesus Bad, not a lot of grey areas. I encourage sound effects, accents and discourage the foul language. Mostly, it is fun. I don't really use it to witness. I had a regular group a while back, but it fell apart. We used to play Star Wars, even though the rules were screwy. That was another opportunity to witness to a couple of guys who thought that they were Christians. We talked about a lot of things that came up in the game, like opportunities for revenge, or righting wrongs. I also have GURPS, but have only been reading it for ideas. I hope to start a Lensman campaign next January. That is definately not Christain, though the Lensmen are supposed to be morally incorruptable. With psi powers and different evolutions on other planets and horrible evils, it would probably make some believers cringe. Also GURPSwise, I have an idea for a Lost in GURPS Space adventure where the original Robinsons run into a figure from religous history. That game will have a lot of Christian flavoring and opportunities to witness in some way. I am using Redemption CCG to get a couple of kids (and their parents) at church ready for DragonRaid later this fall. I will run it as a discipleship situation, but the trick is not to let the kids know. I want it to be fun, yet there will be definite goals for the kids and I to achieve. These are "problem" kids, so any good example they can be shown could help them stay out of jail later in life. Joe R
