1. Twice-Born are not perfect people, just forgiven folks. And who said
the Brady Bunch was an ideal family? (Marsha, Marsha, Marsha)

2. As far as good dragons go, DR handbook says they were hatched on EA
from a malignant set of eggs. Prior to that, there apparently were no
dragons on EA. Therefore, I think the idea of "good dragons" is a
non-winner. Unlike the other DC's, who were brought to EA for
banishment, the dragons are apparently indigenous to EA, and none of them
is good. Besides, I think some are thinking in terms of adult RPG'ers
rather than Jr. High kids. I think it could be confusing to the target
audience.

Although I enjoyed the story line, I believe our brother might be better
advised to set his adventure in another world, one of his own creation,
using, if desired, elements of DR he finds appealing. But I believe this
line of storying is probably not suited to the needs of the DR consumer.

A good line here is "KISS". Keep It Simple, Simon.

3. I agree with Joe about the half-orcs of Middle Earth.

4. Regardless of how the DC's got there, they are there, and must be
dealt with. The only information the LR's have about them is that they
are evil and cannot be changed. They are not human, nor are they animals
dedicated to the OLMN. In the case of the Native Americans, it was a
case of one Homo sapiens race disclaiming that staus for another. Not
unlike Europeans of the 18th century and black Africans. I can remember
people that believed that black people had no souls. I also recall the
argument that blackbirds and redbirds don't mate. But here, you are
speaking about different species. So far as we know, Jesus died for only
one species: Homo sapiens sapiens. Period. Putting the orc-goblin-fallen
angel argument in this light makes it easier to see the truth.
Biblically, Creation is redeemed when Mankind is redeemed (Swords into
plowshares, etc.). It is, in my judgement, a waste of time to talk about
the possibility of redeeming races for which Christ did not die, or for
which the OLMN did not give himself. This I see as the crux of the
matter. Even if you get into the Calvinist/Arminian thing, which I have
no desire to do, even Arminius does not claim salvation to be possible
for those outside the Human Race. He claims that Christ died for
all...Mankind. Calvin says He died only for the elect...of the Human
Race. Herein, I think, lies the solution: If we believe that salvation
is only in Christ, that His atoning death was what made our salvation
possible, that His resurrection was God's sign of acceptance of the
sacrifice of Christ for all Mankind, then we have no problem. The fact
is that Christ died only for Humanity. The rest of creation is to be
redeemed through the redemption of Humanity. ("All creation groans as a
woman in childbirth pangs for the manifestation of the God's Elect",
however your define "Elect".)

As for the Hebrews wiping out whole cities, I believe the warning to them
was to prevent perversion of the faith, not a concern over retaliation.
If God could allow the Hebrews to whip 'em once, they could whip 'em
twice. Also, anything dedicated to the Lord had to be utterly destroyed,
for once it was dedicated to God, no one else could use it.

That's my take on it.
Here endeth the lesson.

In the OLMN,
Dariel the Aged
