If I remember right from seminary, cherubim looked a lot like gryphons. If you look at the decorations on the Arks in a lot of synogogues, I think you will see that our Jewish friends agree. The seraphim were those magnificent creatures with six wings and four faces, but cherubim were the grand lion-like creatures that stood on top of the Ark of the Lord, and on whose wings the Lord was enthroned on the Ark. At least that is how I remember it. And if I am correct, it would be logical for gryphons to be, not DC's, but angels. If anything were to be a DC, I would think a sphinx would qualify, if I remember my ancient mythology properly. Of course, they say three things happen to you when you get old. The first is you lose your memory. I can't remember the other two. ;-) By the way, O Thespian Warriors (actors), there is a DR Musical, you know.
