The LightRaider Handbook mentions that verbal combat is a viable 
option.  But, in this case, if I were the AM, the cave spiders were 
obviously lying and would have attacked the party.  The spiders can 
always spin new webs.

Here is another strange situation in RSS that I heard of:  On 
Skeleton Island, one of the LightRaiders did not want to leave the 
girl Maylan with her family in the dingy caves.  So, the LR married 
her after she accepted the Fantastic Invitation and took her with the 
RaidTeam.  I am sure that they will be wanting children soon ;-)
