Expect a check from me in the mail tomorrow. $2000 dollars? Man, there
must be a huge amount of stuff left.

Subject: [DragonRaid] Rescue of the DragonRaid Materials
[Moderator Hat On]
Hi, everybody. I want to take this time to ask offically for
your help.
For the last 15 years, ever since DragonRaid went under, a
large amount of game materials have been stored in Colorado
Springs at the home of one of those who originally invested
in DragonRaid. This was an incredibly generous thing for him
to do, as the storage fees for all the materials would have
long ago proven to be too much to preserve DragonRaid. So
since that time, some of the DragonRaid materials have been
kept in storage, while the bulk of the materials have been
kept in the barn of Dr. Smith and his family.
Dr. Smith is now about to retire, and he has sold his home.
We are very appreciative and thankful to him for enabling
Adventures for Christ to preserve the materials for so many
years, but now the games must be moved if we are to preserve
them.
Joe Revesz, our Rules Committee Director, has volunteered to
store the games in his garage. He will be traveling to
Colorado Springs in August so that he, Marty Bartels (our
Adventure Committee Director), Dick Wulf (the original
designer of DragonRaid) and others may load a train of
rental trucks and drive the materials to his home near
Akron, Ohio.
As you might imagine, this is a rather large undertaking
which will incur a considerable cost (about $2000). For this
reason, I have been authorized to ask for your help.
Adventures for Christ is a division of the Lamb's Bride
Project, a non-profit Christian organization whose charter
is to teach biblical small group leadership. Because the
Lamb's Bride Project is a not-for-profit organization
designated by the IRS as a 501 (c) 3 organization, all
donations to DragonRaid through The Lamb's Bride Project are
tax-deductible. A receipt will be sent to you for your
donation.
You may send your donation to:
The Lamb's Bride Project
P.O. Box 8240
Colorado Springs, CO 80933
Please put "DragonRaid Move" in the memo of your check.
As you probably know, we are not in the habit of asking for
donations. This situation came up rather quickly, and so we
have been caught in a position of difficulty in handling
this financial matter. If you are unable to make a donation,
we ask that you please pray for us. We know that as we seek
Him first, God will take care of all our material needs.
We want to thank all of you for your support of DragonRaid
over the years, and for your encouragement and patience as
we have been working on a volunteer basis to create the 2nd
Edition of DragonRaid. Those existing materials are vital to
the success of the 2nd Edition, as we will be able to re-use
many of them in the new set (battle grids, counters,
StarLots, etc.). As such, the importance of this endeavor
cannot be more clearly emphasized.
Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.
Your brother in Christ,
