I like this Idea a lot. For the DCs that have human looks make them come from humans that have sold their souls. For pixies and the such too small or Ghosts (if you add them in) could be from the amount of sin in the local area. (This of course would mean that if you converted many people than the power of those DCs in the area would be less) For the just out right strange you could have monsters that came from animals or that were hatched from Dragon eggs. Though with the dragon eggs I would have it be unions that demons had with humans as written about in the bible. You know the strongmen and the mighty men....
