I myself do not like the clone idea. Especially in a fantasy setting.
I believe that the methods by which the DCs were brought about should be
left largely undetailed. Much like how Melkior "twisted and broke" the
Elves into Orcs (Silmarillion) or how Lord Foul perverted races his the
despair filled creatures such as the ur-viles (Illearth war books). To stay
dramatic and fantastical we have to avoid such modern catch phrases as
cloning, as such statements tend to break the "flow of the drama". Besides,
keeping it vague will also help from going into details that AMs, Pastors,
and Parents might be squeemish about adressing, such as whether clones
would have souls (to which I think that they most definately would, just as
any child born out of wedlock would).
