Hello, I agree with Joe here. One of the things that your young gamers are going to encounter in this world, ESPECIALLY if they continue in an interest in RPGs, is varying viewpoints. It has always been a source of disappointment to me how few Christians know much to anything about other religions and viewpoints, even those viewpoints held by the cultures who competed with the Biblical Jews. One of the nastiest jabs from the secular and/or pagan world against Christianity, is the (pardon me) ignorance and lack of respect of far too many Christians regarding their beliefs. One good example is that many wiccans get all bent out of shape when Christians call them satan worshippers, the wiccans stating that they dont even believe in a devil, and that they worship nature. In this situation the well meaning Christian instantly discredited him/herself by not knowing where the wiccan was coming from, and showing an obvious lack of respect for the persons beliefs in the process. Of course we know that wiccanism does in fact worship the enemy, they just dont know it (and thats the way the devil wants it), the dagon, baal, and astoreth, worshippers of Biblical account didnt know it either. Most of those religeons were also a kind of "nature" worship, in that they focussed on appeasing one force of nature "god" or another. Of course this worship involved horrendous acts of perversion and often human (often infant) sacrifice and/or mutilation. I believe that if one is going to try to reach non-Christians you have to be able to understand where theyre coming from. Nothing confounds a pagan Christian basher more than to meet a Christian who knows about their religion s (and isnt insulting about them) but yet retains his or her Christian beliefs. In my experience they either want to learn more, or they flee because they just wanted an argument. Look at Rahvi Zacharias (I hope I spelled his name correctly) the appologist (this term seems to mean that he appologizes after hes smoked you in a debate), his great understanding of Buddhism, Hinduism, and many other faiths, gives him emense power in his defense of Christianity. If you can look at and be familiar with other religions, but yet see the fundamental flaws in them when compared with Chistianity, and retain your faith you show the world much. God bless!
