The captain of a man-of-war, clipper, or prirate ship may have a problem with his skill or vessel being refered to as "boat". And I don't think that "boating" fits paddling a raft very well either, mostly because of the motorboat connotation the term has. So, "Sailing" should refer to the skill used to pilot all watercraft with sail. We need a name for the non-sail watercraft piloting skill, which includes rafts, canoes, a chunk of a log, etc. "Water Movement" is taken, and "Watercraft" does not fit with the names of all the other skills. To keep things simple as possible, I do not want to break it up into "Canoeing", "Rafting", "Hanging on to a log for Dear Life", etc. Will have to think about that... Joe
