You make a good argument and I agree that with the mechanics of the use of
the lance and its limitations then it should do a lot more damage than a
spear. I was wondering, I have a couple of PCs that have chosen the lance,
but they do not, and probably will not in the foreseeable future, have
mounts, so they cannot use their lances. But that only gives them two
weapons they can use. Does anyone allow a fix for this, say, letting them
trade a weapon for a lance later on, or maybe, especially in the case of a
Bearknight, getting the lance as an extra bonus weapon? Just curious if
this has come up before and how it was handled.
Thanks.
David
