Do bear in mind the context of the beer verses, though.

Prov:31:4: [It is] not for kings, O Lemuel, [it is] not for kings to drink
wine; nor for princes strong drink:
Prov:31:5: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment
of any of the afflicted.

These verses admonish that, if we feel we must give drink to anyone, give it
to the terminally ill and the violently depressed. Don't give it to people
who are of good cheer or important people-- it perverts their judgment. I
think these verses make it pretty clear that drinking often leads to
sinning. So, what can we take from the verses? Drink in moderation, if at
all. If you must drink strong drink, drink very little of it (after all,
aren't we all priests and princes and kings, as well as slaves, in Christ's
eyes?) *grin* Anyways, there's my ramblings again ;-)

In Christ's love,
David Cole
