Languages

A character will probably have his racial language as their "first" language
and will probably know at least a smattering of words in one other language.
While he would have a hard time communicating in his second language, a
character could "get by" with it (Ability Level 1).  While the character's
racial language is set, players may choose their characters' second language
form the list below.  All Dark Creatures speak passable Human.  Dark
Creatures not listed as having their own racial language speak the human
tongue.

LightRaiders can learn new languages by spending 20 Maturity Units per
level.

Notes:

*** The Kobold, Gargoyle and Greedo languages are very similar.
