We've discussed this sort of thing before, and I think it's valid. There's a lot of reason in the notion that a Christian society would advance at a quicker pace than a secular one. I wouldn't want it to go too fast (I'm not a fan of the electric-generator-in-the-gatehouse settings myself), but some of those inventions would be a good way to make some friends and contacts in the DL, yes.
