Greetings, all.
One tradition I had growing up was getting 'Spring
Baskets' the Saturday before Easter. She didn't want
to give us baskets Easter Sunday for two reasons:
one, so the real meaning of Easter would not be
obscured by the candy, and two, so we wouldn't be high
on sugar and chocolate during church. I continue this
tradition today.
I admit, when I first saw the chochie crosses, I
thought, "How irreverant!" But as I came to think
about it, I realized that it's one of those issues
that is dependent upon the convictions of the person.
If someone thinks it is irreverant, they shouldn't eat
them, and neither should someone eat the chochies in
front of this person knowlingly. If one does not feel
that way, let them eat.

S.D.G.
