Read the Bible in a Year This evening read Matthew 22:1--22 It Is Not Nice to Attempt to Fool God Do you remember that commercial in the 70s when a margarine company claimed that its product was so close to butter that it could fool Mother Nature? When she realized that she had been had, she said, "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!" accompanied with a bolt of lightning. It's not nice to attempt to fool God, because it is impossible to do, and is in fact sinful. When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way. (Mt. 22:22, NKJV) Men tried to catch Jesus in His words that they might find a way to condemn Him, but He is God and we cannot trick Him. Be sure to read the text and see what they did, but His brilliant answer. The rest of the chapter has other attempts to fool Jesus, but everyone fails. You have not tried to fool Him, have you?
