Read the Bible in a Year This morning read Leviticus 1--3 Sweet without Honey Sacrifices were sweet to God even without honey, "No grain offering which you bring to the LORD shall be made with leaven, for you shall burn no leaven nor any honey in any offering to the LORD made by fire." (Le. 2:11, NKJV) Yet, verse 9 had said, "Then the priest shall take from the grain offering a memorial portion, and burn it on the altar. It is an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the LORD." (Le. 2:9, NKJV) It was a sweet aroma to the Lord, but no honey was in it. Doing things God's way is sweet, even if it is a sacrifice, full of fire and bitterness. Follow life as the Lord directs and your life shall be a sweet aroma to the Lord, although there might the fires of persecution and bitterness, nevertheless, you will find the same sweetness in it that the Lord does.
