Read the Bible in a year by reading Mark 3:20--35 today When People Do Not Understand When people do not understand a person or a situation, they make odd conclusions. Neither the family nor the enemies of Jesus understood Him. Listen to their conclusions about Him. But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, "He is out of His mind." And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebub," and, "By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons." (Mk. 3:21, 22 NKJV) Many people were following Jesus Christ. Many were impressed with His teachings and others were impressed with His miracles. Probably many were impressed with both. How did His family react to this? They concluded that He was out of His mind. How did His enemies react to this? They concluded that He had Satan himself within. Neither group could understand Him, so they made odd conclusions about Him. Watch how people do the same thing today, not only about Jesus, but also about anything or anyone that they do not understand. Have you done that? Have you met some people who did some things that are different than you do things? What did you conclude about them? Question from today's reading: Why could Jesus and the apostles not eat bread?
