Read the Bible in a year by reading Second Samuel 23 and 24 today

When You Are in Great Distress

Often many problems attack us at once. What do we do? When David sinned, God sent a prophet to him, giving him three choices of chastisement. David choice was brilliant and wise.

And David said to Gad, "I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man."
(2Sa. 24:14 NKJV)

When you read of the three choices, you will be like David, not wanting any of them, not knowing which to choose. However, his answer was right; that is, the Lord is full of mercy, but man is not. Therefore, when you are in great distress, pray to God about the matter, of course, but be sure to place your life in His hands.

Question from the text: How many men of Israel did the angel kill?
