Read the Bible in a year by reading First Chronicles 28 and 29 today Do Not Fear, God Is With You By Don Ruhl David was old and he knew that the time of his death was at hand. Therefore, he spoke to his son Solomon about building the temple of the Lord. David said, "Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God--my God--will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. (1Ch. 28:20 NKJV) What could Solomon have possibly feared? He was not going to fight personally in wars as his father had done. Yet, the project that he was about to begin as a young and inexperienced man could have been exceedingly intimidating. Could he do it justice? Would he have all the material and skilled craftsmen necessary to complete the project? Would Israel submit to him as they had to his father? Would an enemy decide to attack while Israel was distracted with this huge project? And many more concerns could have and may have entered his mind. However, David was great because God was with him. In the same manner, Solomon would be able to finish building the house because God would be with him. Live your life in the name of Jesus Christ, and He will be with you, enabling you to finish all that He wants you to do. Question from the text: Ezra wrote that David died in a good old age and that he was full of three things. What were those things?
