Read the Bible in a year by reading Second Chronicles 7-9 today Thousands of Sacrificed Animals Do Not Equal One Sacrificed Heart By Don Ruhl Solomon expressed his heart to God when he did the following, King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. (2Ch. 7:5 NKJV) Picture the sacrifice of 22,000 bulls and 120,000 sheep! None of us shall ever behold such a sight. Solomon and Israel did a good thing at that event of dedicating the house of God. Nevertheless, a sacrificed animal cannot replace a sacrificed human heart to God. In fact, 142,000 sacrificed animals cannot replace giving one's heart to God. If you are married, would you prefer that your spouse give you 142,000 animals or do you want your spouse's heart? What do you think God wants from you? Yes, we can give Him our money, and do countless good works, but do not forget to Him your most valuable possession, your heart. Question from the text: What carved animal stood beside armrests of Solomon's throne?
