Read the Bible in a year by reading John 11:28--57 today The Man of Men Wept By Don Ruhl Okay, we all know the shortest verse of the Bible, Jesus wept. (Jn. 11:35 NKJV) However, do we know or see what it says? Jesus was the ultimate man, but He cried. Why is it that we have the notions that men do not cry, and that crying is a sign of weakness? Those ideas did not come from the Bible, and they certainly did not come from the ultimate man. If the tragedy of others touches you, you are not weak, but you are like the true Son of Man. Men, get your ideas of what a man is from the Scriptures, especially from Jesus Christ. Women, do not use tears to manipulate others, but let your tears be sincere. Question from the text: How long had Lazarus been dead before Jesus raised Him?
