Read the Bible in a year by reading Romans 9:16-33 today It Is a Matter of Faith By Don Ruhl After saying that the Gentiles attained to righteousness, although they did not have the Law, but that the Jews, who did have the Law, did not attain to righteousness, Paul asked why. Listen to his answer, Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone (Ro. 9:32). Yes, there were Jews who had faith and attained the righteousness of God, and there were Gentiles who, in pride, trusted in themselves that they were righteous, but what the apostle showed or explained is that it comes down to faith. Faith is trusting God, not self, for one to be righteous. Place your life in the hands of God and enjoy the freedom that comes from it.
