Read Isaiah 9 and 10 We Are Only God's Tools The king of Assyria boasts of what he is able to do against Jerusalem, claiming that it is all of his doing. He thinks that he is so mighty he can do anything that he wants with any nation. Mr. King you have something to learn. Here is what God says to you, 15 Does the ax raise itself above him who swings it, or the saw boast against him who uses it? As if a rod were to wield him who lifts it up, or a club brandish him who is not wood! (Isa. 10:15, NIV). The king of Assyria is the ax, saw, rod and club, but the Lord God of heaven and earth is the lumberjack, carpenter and punisher. Yes, the king of Assyria was great, in worldly terms, but God merely used the king for His purposes. If that is true about such a man that he was only a tool, what are we in the great scheme of things? After all our successes, let us confess that we are merely tools in the hands of the Greater Worker of the Universe. Praise is to God.
