Being a Guest of a Sinner
By Don Ruhl

Be a guest of someone notorious and you will get in trouble, at least in the eyes and minds of others. People often criticized Jesus for associating with notorious sinners. When He went to be a guest of a chief tax collector, here was the reaction, "But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, 'He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner'" (Lk. 19:7).

People, even in the church, always seem to find things to complain about. Nevertheless, Jesus did not let that stop Him. If the chief tax collector was a sinner, then he needed Jesus. People need you. Be with them and help them.
