Read the Bible in a year by reading First Corinthians 10:14-33 today

The Bible's Assumption About You
By Don Ruhl

Paul said to the Corinthians, "I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say" (1Co. 10:15). He did not assume the Corinthians were stupid or foolish, but he assumed that they had the ability to make a judgment about the things he was saying. In a larger sense, this is why the Bible was given to us, not just the Book of First Corinthians. The Holy Spirit delivered to us a writing He knew we could understand. He knew we could pick up the Scriptures, read them, think on them, and see the truth.

Pause some time today and think on the fact that God knows you have ability to figure things out. Then proceed to read His word and do the best you can to understand it. If a part comes up that you do not understand, ask someone to help you, which is what our fellow-Christians are for, especially teachers and preachers.
