He saw the people of God (Israel) bringing into the world the Christ, then she fled into the wilderness (the church). In chapter 17, he saw a woman again. An angel told him, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters" (Re. 17:1). Why was God judging her? She committed fornication with the kings of the earth, and she made the inhabitants of the earth drunk with the wine of her fornication (v. 2). Be sure to read verse 3 to discover where John saw this woman!
