01.27.2008 New Testament
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 19.1-15 on January 27, AD 2008

Jesus Loved People
By Don Ruhl

Jesus left Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan (Mat 19.1). Knowing He was in the area, people went to Him, "And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there" (v. 2). Jesus spent time alone, but He also spent time with people. He had to. He was a teacher and a preacher. I have known of preachers who said they were not people-persons. How can you teach or preach without being with people and loving them? Jesus came to help people. Yes, He came for their spirits, but they had to see that He cared for them and so He helped them in the body, but He never let that detract from what He had to do for the spirit.

Do you love people as Jesus loved people?
