01.30.2008 New Testament
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 20.17-34 on January 30, AD 2008

No Comment on the Lord's Prediction
By Don Ruhl

Matthew wrote that Jesus took the twelve disciples aside (Mat 20.17), and then He prophesied of His betrayal, condemnation, mocking, scourging, crucifixion (vv. 18, 19a), and then added, "And the third day He will rise again" (v. 19b). Interestingly, Matthew recorded no reaction from the disciples. At other times, they had something to say when He spoke such words, but on this occasion, they remained silent.

Why would you be silent after such a prediction from your best friend?
