04.06.2008 New Testament
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 10.25-42 on April 6, AD 2008

Good Question; Wrong Motive
By Don Ruhl

Luke wrote, "And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, 'Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?'" (Luk 10.25). Other questions may equal that one, but not many, if any, surpass it, in importance. God wants to give us eternal life and we want to live forever more than anything. So, the lawyer asked the right person and the lawyer had an excellent question. However, he did not ask because he did not know, rather he tested the Lord, looking for something to criticize Him.

Friends, we do not test the Lord, He tests us.
