Read Genesis 43--45 Do Not Be Concerned Pharaoh invites Joseph's brothers to live in Egypt, saying, 20 Also do not be concerned about your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours (Gen. 45:20). Pharaoh means every word, because his word in Egypt is like that of a god's. What he says goes, and what he forbids does not happen. Therefore, when he says that they should not be concerned about their goods, because he is making the best of all the land of Egypt available to them, he means it. They truly do not have to worry. The true God says to us, 21b For all things are yours: 22 whether Paul or Apollos of Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come--all are yours. 23 And you are Christ's, and Christ is God's (1 Cor. 3:21b--23). Why then are we concerned about our goods? When Paul writes the words of that passage, he is not speaking like a god, but he speaks on behalf of the true God. Our God means every word of that passage from First Corinthians, because He has all power and owns everything. Therefore, do not be concerned and do not worry.
