This evening read Luke 13: 23--35

Why Do People Want to Know the Numbers Saved?

Someone asked Jesus a question that I have had asked of me many times.

23 Then one said to Him, Lord, are there few who are saved? (Luk. 13:23).

Why was this a concern to this person? What difference does the number make, as long as I am saved? The first part of the answer of Jesus was to tell the person to do everything he can to be saved. Once we are saved, we naturally want others to be saved, but whether many or few are saved cannot deter from our quest for salvation.

I have known many people over the years, who when they found out that the Scriptures exclude certain people, decided that they did not want to have anything to do with Christ. The only thing that does is to insure that person will be lost. We can protest the Lord's decisions all we want, but that will not change what He has determined is needed for salvation.

Therefore, the pressing question of the day is this: Are you saved?
