Read the Bible in a Year
This evening read John 14

Is Your Heart Troubled?

What troubles you? Belief in God and in His Son Jesus Christ will do a great deal to relieve your heart of the trouble. Jesus had just revealed to His disciples that He is going to leave them. This news troubled them.

1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me" (Joh. 14:1).

What did Jesus mean? How would believing in Him, even as they did in God, help them? Be sure to read John 14 to know what Jesus meant. As you read the fourteenth chapter, keep thinking how what He said answers the question of how belief helps. If you keep that in mind, you may see more to belief than you ever did before.

1. It brings assurance of a new home (vv. 2, 3).
2. It brings assurance of how to get to that new home (vv. 4--6).
3. It brings assurance of knowing the Father (vv. 7--11).
4. It brings assurance of doing great works, although Jesus is not personally present (vv. 12--14).
5. It brings assurance that we are not alone (vv. 15--18).
6. It brings assurance of seeing Jesus in a new way (vv. 19--24).
7. It brings assurance that we have peace (vv. 25--31).

Friends, regardless of what happens in your life, believe in God, believe also in Jesus Christ.
