Read the Bible in a Year This evening read Acts 1 We Are Not Allowed to Know Some Things Walk into the majority of Bible bookstores and you will find books that claim to be able to know that this is the time of the end. Interestingly, when the apostles asked Jesus if He was going to restore the kingdom to Israel when they met with Him on the mount called Olivet, just before His ascension, He gave this response, 7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority" (Act. 1:7). What Jesus said in answer to their question about Israel is also true about any issue or event wherein He has not given specific information. He has not given us specific information about the times and seasons, the day and the hour of His return. Nevertheless, there are many, selling plenty of books, claiming that they have a good idea of the time of His return. Friends, it is not for us to know the times or seasons, the day or the hour which the Father has put in His own authority. Let us be content with that and do what He really wants us to do, and that is live holy and godly lives until we meet death or see Him in the sky.
