Read the Bible in a Year This evening read Acts 5:22--42 Christianity Is Different Have you been in Christ for so long that you have forgotten how different it is to be in Christ? You are filled with the teachings of Christ that they are normal to you, but coming from the world at first, the teachings of Christ and of the whole Bible are quite different. For example, after the apostles were beaten by the Jewish leaders and commanded not to preach anymore in the name of Christ, Luke shows what happened next. 41 So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name (Act. 5:41). The apostles believed that there was honor in being dishonored. While this sounds unusual, it should not sound too unusual to us. Do not warriors consider it honorable to be dishonored by the enemy? So, it is with being in Christ. Therefore, do not complain when you suffer or are persecuted, but rejoice in it. You are following the example of Jesus Christ.
