Read the Bible in a Year This morning read Job 30 and 31 Walking After the Eyes In Job 31, Job showed his willingness to suffer for sin. His friends accused him of sin, but he explained that if he had done such and such a sin, then not only was he willing to suffer, but he even prescribed what the punishment ought to be. Therefore, if he had sinned, he certainly would have confessed it as his friends wanted him to do. Now, consider something that he listed. 7 If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart walked after my eyes, Or if any spot adheres to my hands, 8 Then let me sow, and another eat; Yes, let my harvest be rooted out. (Job 31:7, 8). Look at the middle line of verse 7. Job considered it a sin for his heart to walk after his eyes. That is very interesting. After what should the heart walk? Use the word of God to guide the heart, because what we see is not always the whole picture. Just think about the various decisions that you make today and find out what guides your life.
