Read the Bible in a Year
This morning read Job 32 and 33

Have an Answer for Condemning

We did not know it, but while Job's three friends were arguing with him, condemning him, a young man was listening. He was not happy with what the four men said. The writer of Job wrote,

3 Also against his three friends his wrath was aroused, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job (Job 32:3).

Many people are guilty of what Elihu, the young man, saw in Job's friends, that is, condemning people without having a proper answer or reason for doing so. If you are going to rebuke a friend, be sure you have a basis for doing so. Your personal feelings will not cut it. It is best to know the Scriptures and to be able to show someone from the word of God where they have strayed. However, if you do as Job's friends did, condemn without a basis, then you will only get in an argument.
