Read the Bible in a Year
This evening read Acts 15:22--41

Disagreements Happen

We will never know the numbers of people who have left the church, and ultimately the Lord, because they witnessed strong disagreements in the church. They assumed that disagreements should never happen. Therefore, when they see it happen, they get discouraged and fall away. However, the Bible shows that even the great friends, Paul and Barnabas, had a strong disagreement, so much so that they parted ways.

39 Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus... (Act. 15:39).

It does not matter to which church or congregation you belong, disagreements are going to happen. Sometimes the parties involved will not work out the problem. Do not let that shake your faith, but remember that the parties in disagreement are just like you and me with strong beliefs and opinions and sometimes that causes conflict. You are only witnessing what happened even in the first century church.
