Read the Bible in a Year
This morning read Psalms 4--6

Pouring Out the Tears

David was a man's man. He killed a lion and a bear with his hands even as a youth! He killed a giant with a sling. He was good to everyone around him, even his enemies. He was careful to keep his word. Did such a man cry? Listen to David's words,

6	I am weary with my groaning;
	All night I make my bed swim;
	I drench my couch with my tears.
	(Psa. 6:6).

Why is it that we think it is not manly to cry? Why is it that we think it is weak to cry? There are times when even women will not cry, because they "have to be strong for their families."

David cried because he was man enough to know that some things were greater than he was, and so he cried to God who is greater than all. God heard David's weeping and delivered him from all his troubles and enemies.
