Read the Bible in a Year This morning read Psalms 60--62 Ask God to Restore You Many people believe that God has forsaken them or something of that nature. I used to try to explain to people that such was not the case, but after reading Psalm 60:1, I am inclined not to take that route anymore, but to reason with them in a different way. For example, there is no doubt that there have been times that I have sinned and not repented. Therefore, fellowship with God was in serious jeopardy or was perhaps cut off. So why can it not happen to others? Now, read Psalm 60:1, 1 O God, You have cast us off; You have broken us down; You have been displeased; Oh, restore us again! (Psa. 60:1). David did not ask whether God had forsaken him, but clearly acknowledged it. What did he do about it? He pleaded with God to restore the relationship. Therefore, when someone tells you that God has forsaken him or her, show him this passage, confirming that what he says might be true and that he or she should pray to God to restore that relationship. This might even be something that you need to do.
