Read the Bible in a Year This morning read Psalms 79 and 80 The Shinning of God's Face Psalm 80 is about God shinning His face. Interestingly, there is a verse that is repeated three times, but with something added each time. It appears first in verse 3, 3 Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved! (Psa. 80:3). It is the first line that has something added to it. The second time in verse 7 that first line reads, "Restore us, O God of hosts." Then the third time is verse 19, which begins, "Restore us, O LORD God of hosts." Each time something is added to God's title. Asaph felt the shame of Israel as the enemy reproached the nation of God. The enemy was stronger than Israel, but not stronger than God. Therefore, Asaph kept intensifying the picture of God, showing that he believed in God's ability to help Israel, because Yahweh is God, He is the God of the hosts of heaven who are greater than all the armies of the earth, He is the Lord God or more properly Yahweh God who is the Great I Am. Therefore, He can restore Israel, causing His face to shine upon His beloved people, and save them from the trouble that awaits them. Do you need restoration? Show God your belief in Him and watch what He does. Don Ruhl Currently in Old Hickory, Tennessee
