Read the Bible in a Year This evening read First Corinthians 4 We Are Not the Final Judge of Ourselves It is a dangerous trap that we fall into when we convince ourselves that we are justified because we cannot find anything against ourselves. Paul wrote, 4 For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord (1 Cor. 4:4). Paul said again, 18 For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends (2 Cor. 10:18). I am self-biased. Therefore, I will not see all my sins, but the Lord does and He will judge me, if I do not find out what those sins are and repent of them. Therefore, listen to all the Scriptures and listen to people who rebuke us. I am self-biased. Therefore, I only see what is commendable in me, but the Lord knows me better than I know myself, which is why His commendation counts and not mind. Follow the Lord Jesus Christ, focusing all attention on Him and you shall lose self-bias and gain the favor of our gracious Judge.
