Read the Bible in a Year This morning read Psalms 126--128 Dreams Fulfilled Seventy years the Jews were in Babylon away from their homeland. Thousands were born in Babylon who had never seen Mt. Zion and the land that God promised to give to Abraham and his descendants. They heard many stories from those whom the Babylonians brought from the Promised Land and they read about it in the Scriptures. They could only dream of Jerusalem sitting atop Mt. Zion with the glorious temple that Solomon built. Then it happened. Suddenly, the Medes and the Persians conquered Babylon and the new superpower did something that the Jews only dreamed about; the new empire released the Jews that they might return to their homeland. Therefore, they wrote songs about this magnificent event. Psalm 126 starts in this manner, 1 When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. (Psa. 126:1). Events like that only happen in dreams, or so they thought, but happen it surely did! We have dreams. What are they? Submit your dreams to the Lord. Will He bring them to pass? I do not know. For many of the Jews, they died in the land of their punishment without ever being able to sing Psalm 126. Yet, many obviously did get to see the dream fulfilled. Therefore, submit your dream to God and see what happens.
