Read the Bible in a Year This morning read Psalms 137--139 Commitment to the True Jerusalem All the items of the Old Testament were models of the true items of the New Testament. For example, the sacrifice of the lamb was a shadow of the true Lamb of God who is Jesus Christ. Jerusalem was a model of the church. With that in mind, think about the following verses, 5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill! 6 If I do not remember you, Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth-- If I do not exalt Jerusalem Above my chief joy. (Psa. 137:5, 6). Now, transfer the thoughts of the psalmist toward Jerusalem to what our thoughts ought to be toward the church.
