This evening read Second Corinthians 3

God Is Our Sufficiency

Writing of himself as a preacher (and this can be written of all Christians), Paul wrote,

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God (2 Cor. 3:5).

Some preachers impress us. Their knowledge and wisdom from the Scriptures amazes us. Some of the most loving people we know on earth are preachers of the gospel. However, let us remember where they get their sufficiency. As Paul wrote, it is from God.

Let us who are preachers remember that we are not sufficient of ourselves, but whatever good traits we have and whatever people like about us, it is because God has taught us, trained us, and given to us whatever we need to glorify His Son Jesus Christ. It is not about us; it is about Him.
